About ME

My name is Hershey, and I grew up in Sugar Land... and yes, that is a coincidence!  I first discovered my interest in photography at age 12 when my parents enrolled me in a summer photography class.  I pursued it as a hobby thereafter.  If you knew me in high school and college, you wouldn't see me without a camera, even if it was a disposable, wind-up camera.  After spending a wonderful 6 years as an elementary school teacher, I decided to turn my love for photography into a career.  

My passion lies in photographing the joy of children and families as they celebrate milestones in their lives.  My experience as a teacher helps me minimize the stress on families and helps me create unique backdrops and setups.

A few random facts about me: l compare life with the weather. Some days will be sunny and others will be gloomy or stormy, but there’s always a rainbow to look forward to at the end of the storm. I enjoy the outdoors a little too much! Hiking, biking, kayaking, running, camping, you name it! Anything that gets my blood pumping and can be done outdoors, I am there! I cry at every “The Dodo” animal videos. Love love love love to dance! When no one is around and I am in the studio, I may take breaks from editing to do a little dance! I love music but cannot sing a note for the life of me, but it does not stop me from trying! I live life in color and apply it to my photoshoots!

With my job, I get the best of both worlds- working with children and channelling my artistic drive by capturing memories for families to cherish for years to come.
